Famous 80s Cars
May 5th 2008 08:47
The 80's had the flashiest cars of all time.
They were in the movies, on the TV, in video games, and in our dreams.
Gullwing doors, racing vents, targa tops, huge spoilers.
Yes, every over-the-top design was put into action.
EVERYONE had their favorite.
Was it a Ferrari Testarossa? The Back to the Future Delorean? KITT?
Heres a few gems:
"The 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California. Less than a hundred were made. My father spent three years restoring this car. It is his love. It is his passion.."

How could you forget the orange Charger from the Dukes of Hazzard??
That has to be the best car from the 1980's!
Or Lee Majors pick-up in The Fall Guy!
Or even Eric Lastrada's police bike in CHIPS!
Man, am I showing my age,

General Lee is a 1969 Charger mate.
Aint no 80s car.

I prefer the '69 Charger too, but the 80's will have to supplement the real muscle car hormones.

I stupidly thought the post was about 80's TV cars - although I have no idea why I presumed that!

I also remember one of the oddest things I have ever seen in the 1980s. (Again the car isnt from the 80s, but it happened in the 80s lol) My 6 foot 2 inch tall brother went out and got a 1969 Triumph Spitfire. If you are not familiar with the car...go search for a picture of it, and als find a picture of a 6 foot 2 man who weight about 240-260 pounds and try picturing him driving the car.
As I am typing this I just remembered one car of the 80s you forgot that EVERYONE seemed to have. Well at least here in the states they did...
A Pontiac Fiero
I never did undestand the appeal of them.

CAMAROS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!"
1. Looks are a matter of opinion.
2. The Mustang was still one of the most popular cars, I believe that's what "cool" is, by definition. No one wants IROC's anymore, but the fox mustang is becoming one of the most popular project cars of all time.
3. The 5.0 made the same power as chevy's larger 5.7 and the 5.0 LX was always faster than the IROC due to weight differences #I know, I've owned both#. Also the 80's f-bodies were junk.
4. Please uppercut yourself

ok so this was a total side note.
if i think 80s cars then for sure the IROC, smokey and the bandit 78 -79 T/A and the hideous Pontiac Fiero.

My next is the BMW 635CSI and I'll be getting one soon. Easy cause they are now $1-2000 each and I do my own repairs.
