Famous 80s Cars

The 80's had the flashiest cars of all time.
They were in the movies, on the TV, in video games, and in our dreams.

Gullwing doors, racing vents, targa tops, huge spoilers.

Yes, every over-the-top design was put into action.

EVERYONE had their favorite.
Was it a Ferrari Testarossa? The Back to the Future Delorean? KITT?

Heres a few gems:

Hey there Jarrah,

How could you forget the orange Charger from the Dukes of Hazzard??

That has to be the best car from the 1980's!

Or Lee Majors pick-up in The Fall Guy!

Or even Eric Lastrada's police bike in CHIPS!

Man, am I showing my age,

Trans-Am hands down. I know the gigantic bird motif was all the rage, but the Firebird looked dishier without.

I prefer the '69 Charger too, but the 80's will have to supplement the real muscle car hormones.

My apologies jarrah,

I stupidly thought the post was about 80's TV cars - although I have no idea why I presumed that!

Cheers,

No probs. I'm a big charger fan, so it wouldve been there otherwise.

Good to see you Miss Starr, I've always been huge Trans Am man myself, although these days I lean toward Camaro's

Cool blog.

I think everyone wanted a flying Delorean.
But the Testerossa WAS the 80s!

What about Don Johnson's Ferrari Daytona Spyder 365 GTS/4 in Miami Vice.

Well apparently it was a converted Corvette - but a sharp lookin vehicle all the same.

As stated above, the Ferrari Daytona Spyder 365 GTS/4 is certainly not an 80's car, and yes it was built on a Corvette chassis.

Enzo Ferrari sued the makers, and gave the show its famous Testerossa's for free!

I know it just missed the cutoff point, but my first car ever was a metallic blue 1979 Firebird Trans-Am with T-Tops. It was the coolest car I will ever own. However, I was one of those that always wanted a fire engine red Lamborghini Countach.

I also remember one of the oddest things I have ever seen in the 1980s. (Again the car isnt from the 80s, but it happened in the 80s lol) My 6 foot 2 inch tall brother went out and got a 1969 Triumph Spitfire. If you are not familiar with the car...go search for a picture of it, and als find a picture of a 6 foot 2 man who weight about 240-260 pounds and try picturing him driving the car.

As I am typing this I just remembered one car of the 80s you forgot that EVERYONE seemed to have. Well at least here in the states they did...
A Pontiac Fiero
I never did undestand the appeal of them.

Good list. No dorky Ford Mustangs. They were so ugly in the 80s and are far from being a cool car.

CAMAROS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!
