Ice T

Tracy Lauren Marrow (Ice T) was one of the very first pioneers of Gangsta Rap.
Yep, all the way back in '82, Ice started layin' down the kind of jams no one had ever heard before.
We're talkin' 80s T, when he was a Cop Killer and not a cop actor.
Yes, he might be Detective Odafin Tutuola on Law & Order now, but I remember when Ice T was the real deal. He made the music that politicians wanted banned and mothers didn't understand.
Man, the dude even made some kick ass metal tunes too. When I listened back to a little Bodycount today, I was actually pretty impressed. Sure, some of if is very cringe worthy, but it was very edgy and a gutsy move on his behalf. I'm surprised more rappers didn't follow suit. - Instead, we got white-trash country metal-heads trying to rap, not the other way around.
He was a cool dancer too, and even an actor.
He first turned up in Breakin' (Breakdance: The Movie) and eventually kicked some butt in New Jack City. Once he played some kind of kangaroo-mutant in Tank Girl too.
Ice T was born over in Jersey but after the poor little gangster became an orphan he moved over to L.A. and even joined the army!
He says, that's how he got so angry and spiteful at the government.
Word.
'...on with the body count!'
