M.A.S.K

Illusion is the ultimate weapon
Every single cartoon made in the 80s was just a thinly masked marketing tool for a co-existing toyline. So what would happen if you take two of the best selling action figures of all time (Transformers and G.I. Joe) and meld them together to form an ultimate toy/cartoon?
Mobile Armored Strike Kommand – that's what would happen, baby! Genius.
M.A.S.K took the best elements from both of the previous projects and turned them into an awesome, futuristic action packed cartoon with a just as radical toy line.
Matt Tracker and his best buds kicked the crap out of V.E.N.O.M on a weekly basis with their wicked transforming cars/trucks and motorbikes.
I remember the main dude had a sweet Chevy Camaro that could fly when it opened its gull-wing doors – awesome.
Naturally, as was the custom of the time, the Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem matched them in every department (except heart!) with their choppers, boats and jeeps.
Not only did they have cool cars, but they also had sweet mask’s that hid their identity and gave them all different powers.
Every episode Matt Tracker would choose his team from the M.A.S.K roster and they would transform into their masks through an 80s-esque sequence…as was the custom at the time.
Unfortunately, as with all child-based media at the time, we had to have the good-dooer kid and his annoying as hell R2D2 clone tag along for every mission.
The show did, however, have a kick ass opening with a rocking theme. It wasn’t the biggest show of the time, but it has since garned a huge underground following and is evreything I loved about the 80s.
“M-M-MASK! Is the mighty power that can save the day.”
