Top 10 Arnold Schwarzenegger movies

He’s back
There was a constant battle for the action star throne in the 80s, but by the end of the decade there remained little doubt as to who walked away with the crown. Here’s 10 of Arnie’s best in no particular order…
ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER MOVIES
Terminator – 1984/1991/2003
The big man’s trilogy, and probably the best thing that he ever did – peaking with T2:Judgement Day. Check out our Terminator post here.
Total Recall – 1990
This probably has the best, or worst, storyline of any Arnie film, depending on who you ask. Although complicated on first watch, it was a great underrated and boundary pushing sci-fi. Has a stack of classic moments. Like the ‘three-breasted hooker’, the ‘fat lady mask’, the ‘hologram wrist watch’ and pretty much anytime Sharon Stone was in it. ‘Get your ass to mars.’
Predator – 1987
An all time action classic that has spawned a million comics, books, games and films – all of which haven’t been able to touch on the original. Check out our Predator post here.
Commando – 1985
Arnie takes on Sly at his own game and heads to the forest as a crazed ex-Vietnam vet out to revenge and get his daughter (Alyssa Milano) back. I havn’t seen this for the longest time, but it was classic Arnie action all the way.
Pumping Iron – 1977
It may not be a feature film, but this has to be one of the greatest documentaries ever made, and is an even more amusing replay these days, for obvious reasons.
Kindergarten Cop – 1990
Many might not agree, but out of all the terrible kids movies that actions stars have attempted, I would have to say that Lt John Kimble did the best job. A childhood classic with a million quotable lines. “Its not a tumour!”
True Lies – 1994
A great mix of comedy, action and great production. I still love the scene where he puts his fist through the car salesman’s head with an imaginary backhand.
Twins – 1988
Probably not a great movie by any stretch of the word, but certainly an 80s classic and it surely has to be better than that film I never saw where he had a baby? Besides, DeVito is an absolute classic in any setting. “Tonight is your night bro.”
The Running Man – 1987
This movie was weird as hell to me when I was a kid. I thought the concept was pretty good, as it came from a kick-ass book that barely resembles any of the film, but it just seemed so scattered and all over the place. It was like Tron on steroids.
Conan the Barbarian – 1982
Arnie at his bulking muscled best. This is where his action star career all began. This still has a huge following to this day with the medieval-loving public who are still pushing for a remake/sequel soon.
“Hasta la vista, baby.”
